Visit To Mayor Of Banjarmasin, Syamsudin Noor Airport Ready To Support Banjarmasin Tourism Promotions

Banjarbaru (09/23/2016) - The General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan visited Mayor of Banjarmasin, Ibnu Sina, at his official residence located in Banjarmasin. His first visit was to talk about plans for the cooperation of South Kalimantan’s tourism promotions, Banjarmasin especially as the Capital of Province.

“This is the first time we visited the Mayor of Banjarmasin. We are very grateful because in busy schedule, he still had time to accept our visit and discuss a lot of things for the betterment of Banjarmasin.” said General Manager, Handy Heryudhitiawan.

During his visit, Handy Heryudhitiawan explained several things including service user profiles, flight routes, the development of flight traffic, until the things that have been achieved by Syamsudin Noor Airport related to the providing services to service users.

“All praises to Allah we have just received an excellent service award from the Ministry of Transportation. Hopefully this can be a motivation to continue to provide the best service for users.” said Handy Heryudhitiawan.

On this occasion, he also to talk about the development of tourist numbers that still needs to be improved.

“At this time, total passengers coming through the airport and want to travel only 13%. While the majority of passengers coming are to visit their family in South Kalimantan (53%). We have a target to raise the percentage of tourists up to 20%.” he said.

Mayor of Banjarmasin, Ibnu Sina was aware of this matter and expressed “From the data we received, the duration of travelers staying in Banjarmasin only one and a half days. Destinations visited by most tourists only Floating Market and Martapura. Whereas in Banjarmasin alone there are 36 tourist attractions that if only half developed, there are so many options for visitors.” he said.

In response, management of Syamsudin Noor Airport is ready to cooperate with the Government of Banjarmasin if it want to promote tourism to service users of Syamsudin Noor Airport, one of them by participating in the making of photo booth themed tourism that will be placed at strategic points of Syamsudin Noor Airport terminals.

At the end of session, General Manager presented the plaque and catalog of the assisted partners as gratitude. Vice versa, the Mayor of Banjarmasin presented a magazine with titled Banjarmasin travel destinations to be promoted to service users of Syamsudin Noor Airport.

In addition to Banjarmasin, Syamsudin Noor Airport Management plans to visit the leaders in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, because according to traffic data of the last flight in 2015, the largest percentage of the number of passengers came from Palangkaraya.
