kembali ke listBanjarbaru - The Syamsudin Noor Airport welcomed inaugural flight of the Lion Air airline with route Solo - Banjarmasin - Solo on Friday, 7 October 2016. Using a Boeing 737-800 plane took about an hour and ten minutes to the landing at Syamsudin Noor Airport at 17.45 Central Indonesian Time.
The arrival of the airline with flight number JT 832 was greeted with ceremonial activities held at VIP building of Syamsudin Noor Airport. Present at the ceremony Mayor of Banjarbaru, Nadjmi Adhani, Sjamsuddin Noor Air Base Commander Lt. Col. Bambang Sudewo, and General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan. Also present the officials from various agencies in the airport environment such as Airnav and BMKG. Ceremonial activities began with the cutting of tumpeng followed by welcoming of water salute for the flight that comes first from Solo.
The General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan explained “Lion Air with destination to Solo is scheduled every day. By addition of new Lion Air route, the total number of Syamsudin Noor Airport flights became 86 times. The largest percentage is still held by Lion Air with the number of flights 46 times for departing and arriving or about 65%. In the future we will continue to coordinate with other airlines and to add the route.” he said
Mayor of Banjarbaru, Nadjmi Adhani expressed “Thank you to Lion Air & Angkasa Pura I have opened connectivity to Solo. Hopefully in particular Banjarbaru will be more popular, better known and can ultimately increase and attract the visitors.” she said.
Furthermore, Area Manager of Lion Air Banjarmasin, Agung Purnama explained “This is a form of synergy to improve a tourism promotion in South Kalimantan. We plan on going back on serve Umroh flights directly from Banjarmasin to Madinah in November. Next year the Batik Air destination to Halim Perdanakusuma airport will also be operated. Please give us your support.” he said.
Presenting flowers as a welcome greeting was also given to pilots, stewards and passengers by the Mayor of Banjarbaru and General Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport. “Welcome to Banjarmasin.” welcomed Handy Heryudhitiawan.
He also added “Until September 2016 passengers of Syamsudin Noor Airport rose 5% in the same month compared to last 2015, reaching 2,603,819 people. Hopefully, this addition can stimulate other airlines to attract new route because of Syamsudin Noor Airport is still open to the slot of flight schedule.” he concluded.
