Banjarbaru – 5 members of The Commission 5 of Indonesian Republic of Representative House have visited Banjarmasin. The work visitation on Monday, 11th of August 2014 was aimed to check the development’s construction and several other matters related to infrastructure, such as access, public facilities, harbour, bridge, etc. After having direct monitoring to the condition of Syamsudin Noor airport, they concluded that the aiport is over capacity and no longer fit with the increasing of passanger’s number, and also the condition of facilities is not adecuate both in arrival area, toilet, and the conveyor baggage claim.
The deputy of South Kalimantan Governor Mr. Rudy Resnawan admitted that the condition of Syamsudin Noor airport is less comfortable, thus it requires a renovation. According to him, the groundbreaking of new airport will be conducted in this year, yet the land relinquishment is not finished.
The groundbreaking master plan has been ready including the supporting facilities such as the access to the airport and the construction plan of fly over road from Banjarmaisn city to Syamsudin Noor airport, he explained.
However, he added that the plan is not without obstacle, especially the land relinquishment process, which now is in the consignment phase due to rejection from society upon the compensation program based on the government policy.
The prospect of consignment is actually to complete all of the land relinquishment matters so the groundbreaking process can be started immediately, he added (Corporate Communication/Source : Antara Kalsel/Translator by Yeni Mujiatin).
